I had to write something about the over-the-top eyelashes introduced by renown makeup artist, Shu Uemura. False eyelashes aren’t a particularly new trend these days, but Shu Uemura is definitely taking them to another level. These new lashes bear no resemblance to real lashes (similar to lashes the company has introduced in the past); they are no pretense ornamental. But they are sort of absolutely fantastic! If you are eager to take and make that splash, look into his new line of eyelashes.

The line is called (though it is anything but) Lashes in Nature. The nature theme has been interpreted by four atelier artists who work with the company for a total of nine distinct pairs, including ones made of gold-dipped (real dried) leaves and featuring crystals [see photo at left] as well as a (really) long turquoise and white-fringed pair meant to resemble the ocean’s rolling tide [right]. Ridiculous? Fabulous? Hmmm, perhaps they are just a little of both.
