The Credentials: As San Francisco’s elite poured into the sleek new 7,900 square foot, three-story storefront designed by New York architect Peter Marino, they perused Fall and Pre-Fall collections before entering the clear tent on Maiden Lane adorned with quintessential black and white CHANEL interiors transforming it into a nightclub. While noshing on fare dished by Paula LeDuc and sipping signature cocktails, socialites and hipsters mingled while fashion industry musicians du jour – The Misshapes – spun their DJ magic.

The Couture: Mannequins lined the perimeter of the tent decked in pieces from the Fall-Winter 2009/10 Haute Couture Collection exclusively showcased for the U.S. debut.

The Coup: Gift bags contained three CHANEL bangles for the lucky recipients.
