  1. My parents always let me and my 4 sisters choose a gift to open Christmas Eve, and would often steer us to the one “big” gift we really really wanted. All the focus was on that one item, which became that much more special for not being lost in the Christmas morning shuffle. We have continued this tradition with our children since they have been old enough to appreciate it.

  2. Every Christmas, we give all of the “service people” in our lives a box of See’s Candies. Everyone from my sister’s bus driver, to our hair stylist, manicurist, gardener, and housekeeper as our end-of-the-year thank you. Everyone is always so grateful for a little box of heaven!
