First Annual Bootlegger’s Ball

The legendary Sir Francis Drake Hotel will kick off the first annual Prohibition Days in February 2010. This will include a week-long series of fantastic and risqué events leading up to the first annual Bootleggers Ball to benefit San Francisco’s own City of Dreams.
Events taking place during the week will include burlesque dance instruction for those who’d like to steal the show at the ball, a Roaring 20’s-themed fashion show and costume rental, cocktail classes, a Union Square speakeasy bar crawl and much more.
On Saturday, the hotel will be transformed to another era when The Bootleggers Ball takes over the property. Dress in your best flapper dresses, beads, boas, three piece suits, tuxes, fedoras, and spats because prizes will be awarded. The event will include live music, card tables, craps, roulette, a high stakes Texas hold ‘em tournament, and a grand prize raffle and silent auction. The food will be heavenly, the liquor illegal (not really), & the entertainment a buzzing blend of old world meets new. The event benefits City of Dreams.
