American Express Steps Up for Haiti Relief
Corporate Sponsorship 0 CommentsThe following is a reprint from the American Express GivingExpress site. It is impressive what AMEX is doing to generate donations for Haitian relief.
——————————————————————————————–
At American Express, we are committed to supporting the relief efforts in Haiti after the massive earthquake on January 12th, 2010. We recently announced a donation of $250,000 to assist the following organizations with their relief efforts: the American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, International Rescue Committee and the United Nations’ Friends of the World Food program. American Express will also match employee donations for relief efforts.
In addition, American Express will refund the merchant discount rate for charitable contributions made on the American Express Card directly to any of the non-profit organizations listed on the USAID website in support of Haiti relief. The rebate is effective retroactively from January 12 through February 28, 2010.
Below is the list of organizations from the USAID website that are involved with providing assistance to people affected by the earthquake. This list is evolving, so please check www.usaid.gov for updates.
