Platinum-metal-holding sore losers aside, these five Vancouver Olympians will forever be our golden stars.

1. Julie Mancuso (USA – Alpine Skiing): Exuberant, doesn’t seem overly affected by her success on the slopes.

2. Shaun White (USA – Snowboarding): Who else could have pulled off playing air guitar during the national anthem?

3. Joannie Rochette (Canada – Figure Skating): Talk about dedication – she loses her mom the week she has to compete, skates her heart out, and still claims bronze? Wow.

4. Apolo Ohno (USA – Short Track): Great, open attitude. Who would have known that Fu Manchu scrap of hair on his chin would be so dang darling.

5. Chad Hedrick (USA – Speed Skating): He has the need for speed, but more importantly, underneath that lycra bodysuit is one hunky hometown hero.
