The Celebration: Second Annual “Eye on Fashion” Benefit

The Cause: Jack McGovern Coats’ Disease Foundation – Founded in 2007 by parents Tina & Ed McGovern as a promise to their teenage son, Jack, to support research to cure Coats’ Disease, a lifelong affliction that has caused Jack partial blindness. Through local fundraising efforts and grant funding, JMCDF actively supports clinical research and encourages the development of new and effective ways of treating retinal diseases, specifically Coats’ Disease. To date, the organization has donated over $50,000 to help those seeking treatments or cures for the disease.

The Credentials: The Firm boutique in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood treated guests to an evening of hors d’oeuvres, champagne, sweet treats, and shopping, with all proceeds directly benefiting Coats’ Disease research. Featured designers included Josh and Lauren Podoll of PODOLL collection and jewelry designer Jennifer Tuton, and members of the Junior League of San Francisco generously donated their time as volunteers to staff the event.
