Empowerment Campaign: Best Women’s Nonprofits
Nonprofit Spotlight 0 Comments
Here at Vivanista we continue to be impressed by the wide and deep range of passionate organizations empowering women. When Great Nonprofits brought it to our attention their May campaign would focus on increasing awareness of those nonprofits that best serve and empower women we wanted to get involved.
Joining Guidestar, Kiva, Dress for Success, the Women’s Media Center, World Pulse, NOW, the Anita Borg Institute and more, Vivanista invites our community to participate in the Women’s Empowerment Campaign 2010, highlighting nonprofit organizations you think are “Best Serving and Empowering Women in Today’s World.”
Great Nonprofits likens their site to a ‘Yelp’ of the nonprofit world, so in reviewing women’s organizations, the information gets stored in their system for the long-term, helping others find worthy organizations to devote their time – and money – to in the future. The organizations that receive ten new positive reviews will be on the first ever “Top-Rated Women’s Nonprofit List,” to be announced at the end of the campaign.
Organizations reviewed can be small, locally focused, like the Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan, or they can be global in scope, like the HOPE International. Vivanista encourages all of our members to participate in this exciting endeavor with our partner, Great Nonprofits, and help identify the best nonprofits empowering women.
