The Event: On June 3, 2010, guests gathered at the St. Francis Yacht Club for the San Francisco Food Bank’s “One Big Table” gala.
The Cause: The San Francisco Food Bank partners with over 400 community organizations in San Francisco and Marin to alleviate hunger. They carry out their mission through two main avenues: direct distribution through neighborhood pantries and opening their warehouses for agencies to “shop” for selected foods. Their programs include the Pantry Network, shopping program, morning snacks for schoolchildren, holiday food for families in need, supplemental food, emergency food, and the disaster relief program.
The Chair: Marilyn Cabak
The Credentials: The event raised over $140,000, its highest total ever, through a live and silent auction. Auction items included a San Francisco Giants Fantasy Package, a luxury vacation in a Costa Rican villa, and a dinner for eight in your home with wine pairings by Loretta Keller, chef and owner of COCO500 and the Moss Room.
