VIVANISTA LAUNCHES SOCIAL NETWORK EMPOWERING PHILANTHROPIC WOMEN
TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES
- Vivanista members share insights and expertise in lifestyle categories that complement their philanthropic efforts
- Vivanista’s Library of success-based charity fund raising templates and on-line seminars are free to members
SAN FRANCISCO – November 6, 2009 – Vivanista Inc., a platform built to empower philanthropic women through sharing of fundraising best practices, announces the launch of its new site Vivanista.com.
Vivanista is a social network where philanthropic women can empow(H)er one another and enrich their altruistic lifestyle. For the first time on the web, fund raising women can join a community that allows them to share information and insight in a non-intimidating atmosphere. In a valiant effort to target the 35-50+ female demographic who volunteers much of their time to charity, Vivanista opens the doors to a virtual sisterhood where women can learn, explore, shop, network and most importantly, share.
“As an active charity event volunteer, I looked for a place volunteers were sharing best practices and couldn’t find any. With over 90% volunteering their time and energy to some sort of charity – whether it be their alma mater or their child’s preschool or a museum, the only way to gain expertise has been to chat with those who have gone before them. So I started Vivanista to provide the tools for women to learn from each other in fundraising and the topics that complement the philanthropic lifestyle in a broader, virtual community – beyond our local geographic constraints”, states Layne Gray, Founder.
Thanks to the Vivanista Library of fundraising guides, as well as the VivaApproach on-line seminar series, members become more proficient at fund raising and, as a result, increase donations to their nonprofits. Additionally, members are given a platform to share personal experiences and expertise to enhance the repository of fundraising best practices. Complementary to the Library, members can enjoy videos, seminars, and charity event photo recaps.
“Vivanista has emerged as the online community where women’s giving and women’s lifestyle come together. As a philanthropy professional and a woman, I’m delighted that Vivanista has created a place where philanthropic women can share and collaborate.” – Sara Hall, New Philanthropy Advisors.
Vivanista is the first site to provide a 360 degree view of charitable events. Through the MyViva platform, members can post upcoming events, promote those events through the robust Events calendar and sell tickets for incremental revenue and attendance. After an event, Vivanista provides the simple tools to easily upload an event photo recap.
The philanthropic woman craves a side dish of inside scoop of the hottest trends or as the first to ‘be in-the-know.’ Through the Vivanista Marketplace, members can shop in Boutiques – a “shopping street” of unique merchants from around the world, where they are introduced to value-priced, one-of-a-kind jewelry or the perfect hostess gift. Additionally, the Vivanista Showcase includes carefully selected partners who offer consulting opportunities to Vivanista members.
“For me, Vivanista has been about life enhancement – both in getting more out of life and finding ways to help others do the same. That extends to the nonprofit board and volunteer work I do for a variety of organizations. Vivanista exposes me to fresh ideas and trends in philanthropy and fundraising. It’s also a lot of fun!” – Judy Jorgensen, 2008-2010 San Francisco Symphony League President and Junior League of San Francisco President, 2003-2004.
