More than 370 guests gathered at Chicago’s InterContinental Hotel on January 29 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti and raise funds for UNICEF’s Build Back Better initiative. The event raised nearly $550,000, exceeding the Midwest Regional Office of the U.S Fund for UNICEF’s goal during the fourth annual Message of Hope Gala.
The San Francisco Social was held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco on December 18th . It was a night of dancing, music and entertainment in support of KIPP Bay Area Schools.

On May 22nd, San Francisco’s Civic Center held the Annual Black and White Ball, raising money for the Adventures in Music program. Started by the San Francisco Symphony, the program benefits local elementary schools of the San Francisco Unified School District by providing children with music education in grades first through fifth. With performers like k.d. lang, Tony Bennett, Kool & the Gang and others, attendees in their black and white bests dined, drank and danced at the Davies Symphony Hall and War Memorial complex.
Variety Children’s Charity of Northern California is dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world. We do this by providing programs of last resort which help families access medical care and related services that are not covered by insurance companies, hospitals, government agencies or community based organizations.
